About Mahfuz

Key Experiences

Studied Politics and have been recruiting in the charity sector since
I have been involved in social action for several years so when I finished my studies, I joined a social integration charity. My first role was an Administrator, then Coordinator and finally a recruiter where I found my niche and have been working in this field since.

Current Position

Working as a Graduate Recruiter for the Police Now programme
I am responsible for managing applications from screening, assessment, training, compliance through to onboarding. Also handle general queries and work alongside the partner forces to support their requirements.

Main Motivations

Recruiting people that will make a difference
The people I recruit will be participating in a programme that will provide them with skills and experience to make a difference in their communities, something I have been involved with and passionate about.

Top Advice

Always try things
Some jobs or tasks might not be appealing to you or seem to match your skills and interests. But always try things out as you will learn a lot about that particular role/task as well as about yourself.

Greatest Achievement

Creating a mapping system
I was tasked with creating a mapping system that will allow the team to find out a list of staff within a reasonable distance to where we needed them. I consider this as my greatest achievement because it was a complex task with many factors to be considered but despite the challenges, I managed to create an effective system which has helped the team to achieve their task.
